Rose

 



It has been a while since I painted on a digital platform, so I decided to break the pause today. What’s interesting about working digitally is how strongly we still crave traditional textures and the grain, the resistance, the imperfection; rather than sleek digital smoothness. 

That’s what drew me to the crayon brush today; giving this rose a feel that’s a little more grounded, textured, and alive.

BE A HUMAN

  Be a human. You are wondering why I am saying that. It is because being human is more than physically looking like one, it is more than just having the parts. Today, people are creating robots that look like humans and cloning them. Yet, we still call them clones or robots; we never call them human. So, what is humanity? Is it having a soul? But don't all of us have a soul? Is it having a heart? What do we mean by 'having a heart'? Isn't a heart just a part that comes with all of us? Is it having a mind? But aren't we all built with one? Does having a soul mean something more than just a regular soul? Is a heart more than just the part that pumps our blood? Is our mind more than a machine that stores memories and works?
